What I Need the Most

I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

I need Thee, O I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;
O bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.

I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their power when Thou art nigh.

I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is in vain.

I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

I need Thee every hour, most Holy One;
O make me Thine indeed, Thou blessèd Son.




Lord, some days, most moments, I wonder, "Was this cup really meant for me?" What in my life and heart causes You think that this cup isn't more than I can handle? I feel defeated. I really do wonder how much more wear and tear my heart can take? How many more tears are left to cry over this painful, never healing gash in my heart?

I need Thee EVERY hour to speak Your peace over me; to stay near me; to keep me from the sin that ensnares me; to remind me of the joy I have in Thee; to teach me Your wisdom; to fulfill Your will. I need Thee and only Thee. Oh how I need Thee.
